Views From the Seventh Floor

From the seventh floor I can see the beauty of the city and the season.  Historic limestone buildings are the backdrop behind fluorescent orange, red and golden trees.  Even with the clouds heavy and threatening rain the beauty of the city is evident from where I stand, looking down.

Directly below is a flower garden holding onto the last few warm hours before the coming frost.
From another vantage point is the emergency helicopter leaving the hospital pad with the lake in the background.
Looking out the windows gives me time to breathe before turning to see my dad in the hospital bed.

Dad has had a couple of very rough days.  After many tests and being poked like a pin cushion at the Napanee Hospital and having a wonderful medical team, he was transferred by ambulance to the Kingston Hospital. The MRI in Kingston revealed that dad had a stroke.  He was admitted to the stroke unit and the specialists have been in to tell us what is going on and to answer our questions.  They all look like they are about 12 years old but seem very intelligent for their age.  Either doctors are graduating younger or we are getting old.

We are thankful for the amazing doctors and nurses that have treated dad so well.  We are very happy that a room opened up in Kingston so he could get the care and attention that he needs at this time.  I am thankful for a mom that decided a hair appointment could not be cancelled today and was able to look so good for dad when we finally got to see him.

I am so appreciative for my patient husband that drives us around, waits for us and then goes and gets the car when we are ready to leave.

Please pray that dad will have a complete recovery with little to no side effects from this stroke.  Pray that he is protected from any infection or illnesses that sometimes come with hospital stays.
