They’re Home!

Today was the day that Stephen and Kylie were flying back to Bella Coola.  Yesterday had been a full day of travel, flying from Barcelona to London to Seattle and finally to Vancouver.  They arrived there around 10:30 p.m., cleared customs and got their luggage.  They took a shuttle to a hotel and crashed.

This morning they had a short flight from Vancouver to Bella Coola and the weather was perfect.

Ron and  Sarah left for the airport while I put the final touches on lunch prep.  They got to the airport a little early and took a path to the end of the runway.

Sarah got a big scare as she watched the plane fly lower and lower.  Ron said that he wished he had been able to take a picture of Sarah taking a picture.

Fortunately, the plane didn’t land on them and they were able to get back to the tiny airport to watch them exit the plane.

When they got home, I was on the back deck with the dogs.  The boys were pretty excited to see them.

I had lunch ready and while we sipped on tea, we got to see their pictures, hear their stories and ask questions about their adventures.  It was a good trip.

The afternoon then turned into the battle of Ontario.  Ron is a true blue Maple Leaf fan and Stephen has always cheered on the Ottawa Senators.  We ate our tasty roast pork dinner while the game played on.  It was tight and at the end of the third period, the score was 3-3.

We might as well make the evening interesting.  Just a few minutes into overtime, Ottawa scored and there was a happy boy.
The series is now 3-1 for Toronto.

Kylie was exhausted and did well to stay up until 8:00 pm.  Stephen thought he had more energy but was soon asleep on the couch.  We decided to all call it a night and pick up tomorrow with our visiting.

It’s good to have them home even though Sarah had to move from the king size bed to a queen.
